The Camp OCEAN Programs for 2024:

Camp OCEAN programs are for children interested in learning about the marine environment and the organisms that reside there. Hands-on experiments and activities will be done daily with guest speakers and arts and crafts activities.  Lessons will be designed to encourage students to think critically about our environments and how we interact with them.

We have three different programs this summer with different age groupings:

Steller Squids: This is for our 7-9 year old marine scientists. Activities include experiments, arts and crafts, and dissections.

Excellent Eels: Our youngest group of aspiring scientists is 5-7 years old. Activities include arts and crafts, experiments, and games.

Awesome Anemones: For our aspiring biologists, 10-13 years old. Activities include experiments, dissections, and games.

Some activities can include short walking field trips. Classes will be held in the “wet” classroom (RM 121) of the Cal Poly Humboldt Marine Lab between:

9am - 3pm

Children can sign up for any number of days (Monday - Friday) within each session. No refunds can be given for missed days. Attending a 5-day session costs $300; single-day attendance is $65/day.
